Fresh summer fruits are mouth watering and now in addition to peaches, we will have BLUEBERRIES at the Saturday market in Southern Pines from 8-noon. Peaches are now plentiful while strawberries are getting scarce, but oh how good they have been! Summer produce is coming in now fresh from the field. Squash, green beans, cucumbers, beets, tomatoes (including heirloom), lettuces, kale, Swiss chard, microgreens, onions, radishes, peppers, basil, and potatoes are available. Healthy meats (grass-fed beef, pastured pork, chicken, ostrich, and rabbit), eggs, goat cheese products, scones and delicious home-made breads, cookies, jams, jellies and other condiments sell out quickly. Potted plants, and flowers are at the Thursday and Saturday markets. Join us on Thursday next to the Armory in from 9-1 and on Saturday at the downtown park on the corner of NY & Broad from 8-noon, both in Southern Pines. Please continue to practice social distancing as well as to wear masks. Vendors have pre-packaged items for you to select so that there is minimal contact with anything except what you purchase.
