April 8
There are so many good things to find this Thursday at the Moore County Farmers Market on Morganton Road next to the Armory. Lots of fresh fish including soft shell crabs, scallops, shrimp, wahoo, catfish, and lane snapper; Angus grass-fed beef and pastured pork; pastured chicken and eggs; and ostrich meat are available. Many varieties of produce such as lettuce, kale, spinach, onions, radish, cabbage, asparagus, turnips, micro greens, sweet potatoes, and green house tomatoes are plentiful as well as local honey. If you are in the market for plants, you will find vegetable plants for your garden as well as flowering plants and herbs (coleus, purple salvia, lantana, lavender, herbs, rosebud impatiens, portulaca, begonias, marigolds and beautiful geranium hanging baskets). Fresh breads and desserts and condiments of pickled okra and beets, and homemade jams and jellies round out the supply of goodness! The market is open from 9-1 each Thursday. We always look forward to seeing each of you!
