Welcome to brisk January! Thankfully it will be a little warmer for the Thursday market scheduled from 9-1 next to the Armory on Morganton Road in Southern Pines. Another great soup, crab bisque, and offerings of shrimp, scallops, rockfish, flounder, and sunburst trout is available from Hook & Larder! Other meats include MG3 chicken, Hilltop beef and pork. Plenty of fresh greens such as kale, Swiss chard, mustard, turnip, and broccoli. Sweet potatoes and winter squash along with Scott’s green lettuce, and tomatoes. Amy’s pickles, jams and jellies add sweet pleasure to any meal. A few plants such as Amaryllis bulbs are great to start indoors now and plant outside in the spring. Local honey and by products of body butters and soaps as well as goat cheese products are available. Lucky to have Celebrity Dairy providing hot drinks, COFFEE and such, now at the market.
