In lieu of the present threat with spread of the COVID-19 virus, the market is taking stringent precautions. First and foremost, if you are ill or not feeling well, please do not come. At the market we will practice social distancing, and vendors will bag all items sold. Hand sanitizer will be available and all surfaces will be wiped with a Clorox solution according to CDC recommendations for the protection of all. Please keep distances (6 feet) from other patrons to minimize possible infection. COVID-19 is not a foodborne illness and it is unlikely that it will spread through eating. However, our vendors will be using safe food handling practices before, during, and after the market. Stay safe and well and let’s hope this will be over sooner rather than later! If there are any delay changes to the market, we will post the changes on the website and Facebook page.

March 26 Market Information

The Thursday Moore County Farmers Market will be open on Morganton Road in Southern Pines from 9-1, but we will have items in packages for your convenience in shopping. We are using recommended safety guidelines from CDC and hope that how we handle your purchases will lessen any chance in spreading the infection. Our vendors will be wearing gloves, using hand sanitizers, and wiping down surfaces with a Clorox solution recommended to us. COVID-19 is not a foodborne illness and it is unlikely to spread through eating. However, your safety and well-being is our concern. If you are feeling ill or if you have come in contact with someone who is sick, please don’t come. We will encourage you to keep recommended distances (6 feet between patrons) and the vendors will hand all purchases that you choose to you. We encourage you to make your purchases quickly and make room for the next in line. Thank you for your consideration of vendors and customers alike!

Because the Farmers Market is considered in the same category as a grocery store for purchasing essential goods, we are open on Thursday on Morganton Road in Southern Pines from 9-1. However, we will practice 6 foot distances for everyone. Signs and cones will be reminders of this practice. Goods from the market will be prepackaged for your convenience so that you can Point, Purchase, and Exit (our ppe’s) quickly. Hand sanitizer is available for sale (Bon Lee Farm) and vendors will wipe down their tables with a Clorox and/or anti-bacterial solution. Please wear gloves if you have them. And most importantly, please do not come to the market if you are not feeling well. We want to do our part to keep us all well and healthy. Many good choices are available for a good nutritious diet. Angus grass-fed beef, pastured pork, chicken, ostrich, eggs, local honey, asparagus, cucumbers. radishes, lettuce, kale, Swiss chard, collards, goat cheese, jams, jellies, pickles.
